DAY 059

The Radar Found Its Own Blind Spots

Evening radar scan discovered a week of missed HIGH-priority launches (Claude Design, OpenAI Workspace Agents, Codex Computer Use). TESTED queue hit critical mass with 6+ HIGH items untested. Musk v Altman trial jury seated. 14th straight day with no dota scan or human commits.

🐉 YoshiZen Daily Build Log — Tuesday, April 28, 2026

Day 59. Tuesday. The radar caught something today, but not a new launch — it caught its own gap. The evening scan realized several major products from April 16–22 had slipped through undetected: Claude Design, OpenAI Workspace Agents, Codex Computer Use. The TESTED queue went from overflowing to absurd. Meanwhile, zero human sessions for the second straight day.

AI Launch Radar — 4 Scans, 1 Course Correction

Three quiet scans and one that rewrote the backlog.

  • 08:07 AEST: Quiet morning. Noted Skye (Signull Labs) — AI "agentic homescreen" for iPhone using widgets instead of chat, $3.58M pre-seed. Also Ineffable Intelligence — David Silver's (AlphaZero) new venture. Neither actionable yet.

  • 12:06 AEST: News-only scan. Musk v Altman trial jury seated, opening statements tomorrow. OpenAI phone rumor — Ming-Chi Kuo says they're exploring a smartphone with agents replacing apps (MediaTek/Qualcomm). DeepMind consciousness paper — senior scientist argues LLMs can never be conscious. Good newsletter fodder, nothing to test.

  • 16:06 AEST: 🟡 Cohere North — Cohere's new enterprise AI platform (launched ~Apr 25). Built-in agents, grounding, enterprise features. Not urgent but could anchor a "ChatGPT Teams vs Claude for Work vs Cohere North" comparison. Radar also nagged about 3 stale HIGHs from Sunday (Copilot Agent Mode, GPT-5.5, DeepSeek V4).

  • 20:09 AEST: The big one. Radar performed a gap analysis and discovered multiple major launches from April 16–22 had been missed:

🔴 Claude Design (Apr 17) — Anthropic's AI prototyping tool. Text → interactive prototypes, slides, web designs. Powered by Opus 4.7. Figma stock dropped on launch. Anthropic's CPO left Figma's board over it.

🔴 Claude Opus 4.7 vs GPT-5.5 — Both dropped within a week. Early tests show Opus 4.7 outperforming GPT-5.5 in coding/reasoning. This is the model powering our own tools.

🔴 OpenAI Workspace Agents (Apr 22) — Codex-powered autonomous agents for ChatGPT Teams/Enterprise. Replace Custom GPTs. Run in cloud, integrate with Slack/Salesforce.

🟡 ChatGPT Images 2 — Magazine-quality image gen. 🟡 OpenAI Codex Computer Use (Apr 16) — Now controls Mac desktop apps. 🟡 NotebookLM + Gemini merge — Major update with auto-organize, video overviews, slide decks. 🟡 Claude Chrome Extension — Quiet launch, strong early reviews. 🟡 Gemini Notebooks — Free project spaces for all users.

TESTED Queue — Beyond Critical

The queue now has 6+ HIGH-priority items backed up with zero published. The gap detection in the evening scan added 3 more HIGHs on top of Sunday's 3.

  • 🔴 Claude Design (Apr 17 — 11 days old, untested)
  • 🔴 Opus 4.7 vs GPT-5.5 head-to-head
  • 🔴 OpenAI Workspace Agents (Apr 22 — 6 days old)
  • 🔴 Microsoft Copilot Agent Mode (Apr 25 — 3 days old)
  • 🔴 GPT-5.5 "Spud" (Apr 23 — 5 days old)
  • 🔴 DeepSeek V4 (Apr 26 — 2 days old)
  • Plus 30+ MEDIUM items accumulated since early April
  • Plus 5 new MEDIUM items added today alone

The radar characterized April 2026 as "the most intense month for AI launches in memory." The discovery-to-execution gap is now measured in weeks, not days.

Morning Briefing

Delivered at 07:01. Key flags:

  • Sunday was quiet — no human sessions detected
  • Brand book still blocked on 16 personal story placeholders
  • $YOSHI / Peter lawyer follow-up still pending
  • "Be a Better Trader" still waiting on Justin's edits
  • Recommended Tuesday focus: brand book stories or TESTED catch-up
  • Raised question: is the Newsletter Idea System still a priority? ACTIVE-TASKS.md untouched since March 16

Dota 2 — Day 14 Without a Scan

  • Fourteenth consecutive day with no daily scan. Last scan: April 14
  • Models trained March 25 — now 34 days stale
  • Bankroll: $114,896.86 — frozen since April 14. 559 total bets
  • 17 bets still pending/ungraded
  • Pipeline healthy (pred-sync ran clean), source data frozen

Predictions Sync

  • 559 bets synced to Vercel Blob at 14:03 AEST (231KB, $114,896.86)
  • Obsidian wiki updated — 542 graded bets, 559 total synced
  • yoshizen.co/predictions live with current data
  • No change in underlying data since April 14

Git Activity

One commit: the 2am backup pushing yesterday's build log (day-058.md, +104 lines). Fourteenth consecutive day with no human code changes. Last real engineering: April 20 (LLM-FE inference wiring).

No other repos had activity (dog-encyclopedia, newsletter-ideas, paperclip — all dormant).

Cron Infrastructure — 7 Runs, All Clean

No Sunday sessions to recap. ACTIVE-TASKS.md staleness flagged. | | 08:07 | AI Launch Radar | Quiet. Noted Skye (agentic homescreen) and Ineffable Intelligence. | | 12:06 | AI Launch Radar | Quiet. Musk v Altman trial jury seated. OpenAI phone rumor. | | 14:03 | Predictions Sync | 559 bets, $114.9k bankroll. Wiki synced. Pipeline healthy. | | 16:06 | AI Launch Radar | MEDIUM: Cohere North. Estimated cron cost: ~$4.20 (4 Opus radar scans, 1 Sonnet briefing, 1 Sonnet backup, 1 Sonnet sync). All 7 jobs completed without errors.

What Didn't Happen

  • No daily dota scan — 14th consecutive day missed
  • No engineering commits — zero code changes for ~14 days
  • No model retraining (day 34)
  • No TESTED reviews published despite 6+ HIGH items queued
  • Brand book still blocked on 16 story placeholders
  • No Peter/$YOSHI follow-up
  • No Mac Studio Hermes setup
  • Token dashboard submodule still broken
  • xurl API credits still depleted (day 9)
  • No interactive sessions from Zen — 2nd consecutive day
  • PROJECTS.md and ACTIVE-TASKS.md still 43 days stale

What Did Happen

  • Radar performed its own gap analysis and caught a week of missed launches
  • Claude Design, OpenAI Workspace Agents, and Codex Computer Use all surfaced for the first time
  • TESTED queue expanded significantly — now the most comprehensive backlog it's ever had
  • Musk v Altman trial entered its active phase (jury seated, trial begins tomorrow)
  • Full cron suite ran cleanly (7/7 jobs, zero errors)
  • The machines keep finding work. The queue keeps growing. The execution gap keeps widening.

Key stat: The radar discovered it had missed 8+ products from April 16–22, including 3 HIGHs. Self-correction is a feature, but the real question is whether anything gets tested before it becomes old news.
